  • Dissertations of two PhD students were among five finalists in the ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award competition (Yow-Jian Lin (1988) for his work on automatic parallel execution of logic programs and Anshul Gupta (1995) for his work on highly scalable sparse Cholesky factorization.
